Elder Biff Callahan

Born and raised in Minnesota, Biff’s (she/her) healing journey began in 2002, when she joined the Cauldron Circle and began studying with her beloved teachers, Cara Carlson and Kara Vangen. In those early years, Biff also attended introductory classes at The Cultural Wellness Center and learned about The People’s Theory – that “Individualism, loss of community, and loss of culture, makes you sick”, and the Philosophy of Community, a culturally grounded approach that leads to effective community building and enhances individual, family, and communal health. Her intention is to apply these cultural concepts in her daily life and help others find their way to greater wellness through community and culture.

For over two decades, Biff has been engaged with the Tree and the Well Institute for Deep Cultural Studies and Anam Cara House. Biff is now part of the Cauldron Teaching Circle and an Anam Cara Community Tender. She was initiated as a community Elder in August 2024, and is also a licensed Officiant in Minnesota, offering her services to help plan weddings and funerals grounded in Celtic and Nordic/Germanic Pagan cultural traditions. Biff lives with her wife in Woodbury, MN and is available to provide culturally based Eldering support in the Twin Cities metro area, with one-on-one or family meetings in person or via video chat. Biff is also a breast cancer survivor and can provide peer support for anyone dealing with breast cancer as a patient or caregiver.
