Lili Medrano

MSW Intern

Accepting new clients.

Hello! ¡Hola!

I’m Lili Medrano, a graduate social work clinician and master’s-level intern, passionate about walking alongside individuals and families as they navigate healing, growth, and life’s many transitions. Originally from Mexico, I have called the Twin Cities home for the past ten years.

As a Latina and a woman of color, my personal and professional journey has been deeply shaped by community. For more than a decade, I have worked alongside the Latine community through nonprofit organizations, community engagement, advocacy, and social justice initiatives. These experiences ultimately led me to pursue social work—a path that brings together my commitment to equity, healing, and meaningful human connection.

Before entering the mental health field, I worked in human resources and communications, experiences that strengthened my ability to build trusting relationships, navigate conflict with compassion, and understand the complexities of people’s lives with curiosity and without judgment.

My own life experiences, including navigating trauma and adversity have given me a deep appreciation for the resilience of the human spirit. They have shaped the practitioner I am today and continues to nurture my empathy, humility, and commitment to creating spaces where people feel genuinely seen, heard, and respected.

As part of my social work training, I completed an internship with BeechWood, Inc., providing Adult Mental Health Rehabilitative Services (ARMHS) to adults living with serious and persistent mental illness. This work strengthened my clinical foundation and deepened my understanding of trauma, recovery, cultural humility, and person-centered care.

My clinical interests include working with women, immigrants, trauma survivors, and children. I am committed to offering trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based care that honors each person’s unique story, resilience, and capacity for healing. I have a passion for working with folks with diverse cultural backgrounds, identities, and life experiences. I believe healing is nurtured through meaningful relationships—with ourselves, with others, and within the communities that help us remember who we are. At Anam Cara, we understand healing as a process of reconnecting with our own inner wisdom while being supported by relationships rooted in trust, compassion, and belonging.

My goal is to offer a warm, culturally responsive, collaborative, and empowering space where you feel supported in exploring your experiences, discovering your strengths, and moving toward the life you hope to create.

I look forward to meeting you and being part of your journey!
